Brickyard 400 Race Day – 2011

Great day for a race…not much wind and plenty of sun! It was an awesome opportunity to be in the pits and right next to the track and to be able to get some shots of the action just feet away from the cars. To see all the photos check out my Flickr page.

Brickyard 400 – Qualifications

A NASCAR qualification day is much much different from Indy Car. Not only is is only two laps and you have one shot…there are cars and people running back and forth to the pits and back to the track…which makes for a very busy day! Check out more on my Flickr page.

Brickyard 400 Practice Day

Practice day was very busy and fun. Not like Indy Car if it’s something you are use to. In NASCAR they can go run a few laps…not like something…head back to the pits for a few minutes and head back out. Keeps you on your toes and makes for some great shots! See more on my Flickr page.

Indy 500 Practice Photos

Spent an afternoon out at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for one of the few dry days for 2011. I didn’t have pit passes which are hard to come by, but was able to hook myself up with a garage pass for a few hours. Many people ask if it’s hard to shoot someone going 220+ MPH. Actually no. I find tennis much harder! Why? Because a race car, you know when it’s coming and where it’s going…in tennis and other “ball” type sports…you don’t know where it’s going or coming from, so it can be a little harder to get the right shot!
